Elizabeth Duvall, MD

Dr. Duvall graduated cum laude from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology where she was a member of the Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society. During her time at W&L, she was very involved with the music and performing arts departments and studied abroad at University of St Andrews in Scotland. After earning her bachelor’s degree, she moved to Louisiana and completed a teaching fellowship through teachNOLA, an organization dedicated to training highly skilled educators for high need schools.

Dr. Duvall received her Doctor of Medicine degree from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was recognized for academic excellence with
the Nathan Bernstein Scholarship, the Institutional Scholarship, and the Outstanding Student in Ophthalmology award. In addition, she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor
Medical Society and was a nominee for the Gold Humanism Honor Society.

Dr. Duvall returned home to the midwest for the remainder of her training, completing her
transitional year internship at Beaumont Health – Royal Oak and her ophthalmology residency at Beaumont Eye Institute. She participated in research, was active as a member of the Resident Wellness Committee, and served as a resident consultant to the AAO’s Membership Advisory Committee. During her final year of training, Dr. Duvall traveled to Migori, Kenya on a medical mission trip through the organization Kenya Relief where she helped to provide medical and surgical eye care to hundreds of Kenyans in need. She is passionate about service, education, and giving back to the community and participated in numerous outreach and screening programs throughout her undergraduate and medical education.

When she’s not seeing patients, you may find Dr. Duvall spending time at her home in Howell, MI with her husband and their dog and two cats, watching Detroit sports teams, visiting family, going for a walk or taking a group fitness class, tending to her garden and her growing collection of houseplants, learning a new skill, or traveling to a new place on her bucket list.
